 Nashota smiled softly. "Don't sell yourself short lil sis. You're just as skilled if not more so than myself." Nash turned cobalt eyes to the wolf and grinned broadly. "Kaleadora and myself share a tom, but we come from different queens. My mother was a caller of certain elements. But our father was and wonderfully gifted healer."

The cobalt gaze touched on the sleeping human and she frowned. "If it isn't out of place... I'm with Kalea... How did your human come to be injured?"

Rio sat quietly and waited for both young Jellicles to quiet themselves. She realized that their natural curiousity was running away with them, but given what a great help they had been she chose to answer their questions.

::His name is Gabriel, and he is my lir.:: Rio moved to settle herself closer to Kalea. Her tongue rolled like that of a tame dog, but one looked proved to be other wise.

::You see... When a Cheysuli youth comes of age he becomes very very ill. They tend to run high fevers and cannot be kept in bed. They grow increasingly aggitatied until they can take it no longer.::

She nudged Kalea's hand with her nose and indicated the wound in her own foreleg. ::Finally the youth goes into the forest alone and without a weapon. Only two things ever come of it. They find their lir or they stumble into the unknown.::

::Gabriel and myself have been together now for many years as humans count them. And as long as he stays alive and healthy I am granted a human life span.:: She sighed happily. ::Other wolves are leading but half a life in my oppinion. They do not know the bliss of having a human half.::

Her eyes cleared and she growled deeply. ::But there are many who hate and fear what they do not know. And so they have placed a price on our heads. My lir here...:: She gently chewed on Gabriel's limp hand. ::He was shot by men who sought to collect money for proving they had downed a true Cheysuli.::

She sneezed loudly in her anger and looked up into Kaleadora's eyes. ::Do you Jellicles not suffer the same endless hunting as we Cheysuli?::
