Gwenneth's breathing was quick and shallow, and her eyes were squeezed tightly shut. She could feel the surge of horror and fear in her boy, and knew that he had found Gabriel and Rio. Her heart wrenched, but she had lost control of her injured body, and could not go to him. There was no turning back now; her boy's education had begun. She wanted to speak to the golden tiger-lir so carefully tending to her, wanted to warn him of Jeff's situation, but simply could not muster the mental strength to send even a simple message. In despair, she sunk back into total unconsciousness, her heart aching for the plight of her boy.
