It Takes A Man (Chapter Three)

Previously in “It Takes a Man”…Todd told Blair the truth but she didn’t’ believe him. After telling her what happened in detail, Blair finally believed him.

At that instant, Blair started to cry and shake uncontrollably. Using all of her might, Blair began pounding away at his chest with both fists. All the while screaming, “HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME, YOU SAID THAT YOU LOVED ME. WE SAID VOWS IN FRONT OF OUR FAMILIES AND ALL ALONG YOU WERE LYING TO ME.” Feeling his chest getting sore, Todd managed to get up from the couch. He said to Blair, “You lied to me. You told me that you were having Maxhole’s baby. Day after day, you threw it in my face. How was I supposed to know? I finally did something right though Blair. I found out where our son was, and I brought him back to you. Blair, Jack is our REAL son. The fact that I found him and brought him back to you must count for something.”

Blair composed herself, stood up and said “Todd, you’re right, this is as much my fault as it is your’s, at least we got our baby back, right?” Todd replied “right!” Without warning, Blair said “WRONG!” and knocked Todd out with the strength of ten men. Her blow sent him crashing to the ground, where he lay groaning in pain. Blair swooped down on him, straddled him and started to pound away at his chest again, over and over and over. “You think that you can play God with my life Todd Manning? Well let me tell you something you bastard. I love you with everything that I am, but you are NOT getting away with this, this easily.” Blair kept pounding on his chest until she collapsed on top of him with exhaustion. By now, they were both sobbing, thinking of what their lies had done.

Blair regained her energy after several minutes, got off Todd and sat down on the couch. It took all of her willpower not to ravish him right there on the floor. What was this hypnotic affect that this man seemed to have on her? Todd was still on the ground, his hands over his eyes, sobbing. He knew that he deserved every bit of what just happened. He shielded his eyes because he was not ready to see the pain and hurt in Blair’s eyes. She had put her trust and faith in him for the millionth time, and for the millionth time, he had crushed her soul.

She didn’t know how she found her voice or the courage to say what she said next. Blair told Todd that she was going to go pick up HER children and that she didn’t want him to be there when she got back. Todd rose up and started to plead with her, but Blair just grabbed her coat and purse and slammed the door on her way out.
