Does your arthritis hurt worse when it's cold and snowy? (I've found that I can always predict when it's going to rain, because my arthritic hip really hurts the day before.) You mentioned that you've lost weight, so I'm betting that makes it easier overall for you to do the shoveling.

If you need help, call your son to come on over and pick up an extra shovel! (Or call Mapguy. He'll load the snowblower in the minivan and help you with that driveway. Warning: he'll want to talk about music the whole time.)

Have you been skiing a lot for most of your life? I can tell when you write about it that you really love it. I guess that goes hand-in-hand with your love of winter. I've never really gotten into much cold-weather sports (heck, I've really never gotten into sports much at all). I love my yoga, which I can do all year 'round, and I also love to walk, swim and ride my bike. All Summertime activities, of course.

I do hope we get a nice snowfall once or twice this winter. As much as it's a pain in the neck to commute and deal with the school closings, etc., it's just too pretty do go without it.
