Mom was the church organist for decades but had to retire some years ago due to her health. Even though she's been going through some tough Chemo treatments lately she wants to play the organ while I sing this year. And as the saying goes, "What Momma wants, Momma gets!" Usually I just play it and sing myself, well a family friend was here the other night while Mom was playing and I was singing and she started crying because of all the memories it envoked in her. There's something about that song (Ava Maria) when played with a pipe organ sound that just seems to get to people.

The past few years after the church service the entire congregation has stayed on to sing carols while I play the organ. I have a feeling that this year with so many Sammys' coming in for the holiday, and with Mom playing, our Christmas eve celebration is going to be more like a Von Trapp Family Christmas.

We Sammys' are a really corny bunch, but we sure have alot of fun. The love in this family can't be measured. I'm so lucky.
