Subject: RE: Big Pink

...In my zeal of remembering great tunes of my past I mistakenly made an obscure big pink reference.

The Mike Kenneally site mentioned "Screamin Jay Hawkins" in Mikes early career. My gin buzzed brain automatically shifted to Ronnie Hawkins and the Hawks. Ronnie, in the early 60's put together (among others} 4 terrific artists as his band...later known as "The Band" while out on their own. An important block of Band music was produced in an upstate NY house they shared known as "Big Pink".

Garth Hudson a classically trained Lowery/hammond player was the first keyboard artist I became aware of. The guy did it and played it all.
