Subject: Family reunion

...Our every-other-year family reunion went off as planned. This year we were again in Point Pleasant. The place we stayed 2 years ago wouldn't return our calls, so we stayed at a different place. Guess they weren't used to 60-odd people in a group...and I do mean odd.
...there was the expected bouts of "drama" but nothing serious. We've got uncles and cousins that come in from California, Florida, Pennsylvania, Virginia and all points of New Jersey. Our uncle from Lowell, Mass. unfortunately died on monday, 5 days before, and was buried the day before the reunion started. So there were mixed emotions at the start until we were all together at the Saturday dinner where we shared pictures of Uncle Jimmy. Stories of Jimmy were peppered into several conversations throught the weekend.
...It was wonderful seeing the next generation of little cousins playing together. They basically only see each other at these reunions. It's a shame everyone lives so far apart. Those of us who live here REALLY should get together more often, but you know how it is.
...Reunion 2006 is already in the infant planning stages. I hope cousin Anita, the driving force behind this thing of ours, doesn't crack from the stress.
