Both stores are in Wise County Virginia, which is located in the far southwest corner of the state. The county that forms the southwest "tip" of Virginia is Lee County, and we're the next county to the northeast. The stores and our home are in the Appalachian Mountains, at about 3,000 feet.

The towns of Norton, Wise and Big Stone Gap are essentially the only towns in the entire county, which I believe has a population of 30,000 all told. Talk about small towns! Now that I'm involved in a few business associations and the Chamber of Commerce, I can't go downtown without someone not only saying hello, but calling me by name. I feel like Norm from Cheers in even more than just the waistline!

Please do come on down and say hello. If I'm not at the store you visit, aks them to call the other one and I'll drop by, say hello, and of course treat any of the Neighbors to a meal. Don't laugh, because the area is not too far (about 45 min.) from Interstate 81, which is a major corridor from the northeast to the South Central US.
