Plus I've lost a ton of weight so that eases the pressure on the joints. Physically I'm doing pretty damn good, alot better than I was, or ever expected to be (thanks to medical science).

I've felt so good I've been playing gigs as a sit-in artist, but this past month I put a stop to it because my Mom took ill. We had chartered a sailboat and were heading to Maine for a family vacation when she took ill and we flew her home from Newport. She's just come out of the hospital after being there for three weeks and she's working to regain her strength. Mrs Sammy and I are caring for her and we've made arrangements for in-home physical and occupational therapy as well as visiting nurses. I have stopped all work so that I can devote my time to being with her.

The kids are doing grate and are eager to begin school/college again. It's that time of year when we spend a fortune on clothing, books and other essential supplies. Although Michel has been more interested in spending his time at the shore with the boat and his girlfriend (ah youth!). Lois like most teenagers has a cell phone attached to her head and text messages and gabs to her friends non-stop (bills like phone books). My youngest Kate is still "Daddy's little girl" and has been having a wonderful summer playing with her friends and swimming.

How's Gumdrop? She must be getting to be a big girl now?
Has Mapguy healed? Last I talked to you he was all broken.

It must be a real hoot to be working where you do now. What can possibly happen next? There was always that rumour that the Gov. was "holin' Golen". heh heh heh!
