OC looks like they will win this one! Boy it was closer then I ever thought! I think they need to get out of their funk they are in! Cause if they continue to play like this they are done Friday! Merrill missed way too many shots! Page had a solid game! Congrats on making the SAC 2-0

Yeah. He took 22 shots in the first 40 minutes. And in the first 40 minutes, he shot 1 free throw. He was fouled ONE time.

Right.

Brescia's hot shooter missed two times on the final possession of regulation. Good D by the Eagles. Missed the rebound, but they didn't forget their jobs after that either.

I had one eye on the game I was covering and another on the webcast on my laptop. I'm sure the poor guy sitting beside me on press row, who is actually a small-college fan, probably thought I was nuts as I groaned when Brescia made its run then held my breath the rest of the way.

First-round games can sometimes be the toughest, especially for a team with high expectations. Brescia also was a stout team, having hung with Mountain State for a good while earlier this year.

As far as David's concerns about officiating, they're probably legitimate. The NAIA has an unprinted rule for officials that almost anything goes on the tournament's first three days, so they can get in eight games a day. The tournament already was an hour behind before OC got on the court, and I'm sure the officials didn't want to prolong it.

Usually by the quarterfinals they start calling things a bit closer.

And now, we can wait for the criticism from Lance that Dan Hays HAS ONLY WON THREE NATIONAL TOURNAMENT GAMES EVER.

Azusa is putting a butt whoopin on HBU. Should be an interesting matchup on Friday.
