Subject: Phenom Inteview

The Informer sits down with Phenom in the interview room of the newly christened Pheonix Enterprises studios in Philadelphia PA

Informer: What’s up kids this is me The Informer here with arguably this industry’s biggest star. The Man they call Phenom. What’s up champ?

Phenom: Not a lot.

Informer: That’s cool so let’s get down to business, let’s take it back to a few weeks ago, Shockwave, Wargames what was that match like.

Phenom: It was a thousand times brutal than it looked on TV I mean every guy in there came to work that night and all 8 of us put on one helluva show, we basically ended what was a fantastic story with The Phoenix Promotion vs. The New World Order. It was more than the huge match that it was supposed to be.

Informer: What was the highlight for you in that match?

Phenom: Probably the Ethan Pheonix flaming table spot. A lot of people thought that Ethan and Pheonix were gonna be in the way when the match went down but I think Ethan proved his commitment to the company by putting himself through a flaming table. We all knew the fans wanted to see Ethan destroyed and he gave that to us. Besides that probably the short exchange I did with Paul Maxx. Paul and I are around the same size and it was cool to work a main event with someone who’s not a giant.

Informer: Now that the whole nWo thing’s over, what do you think now that you look back on it?

Phenom: Well it was nothing short of incredible, the initial reaction was massive, and it stayed hot all the way until the end I mean first we thought this thing would crash and burn, now it’s hard to imagine The Pheonix Promotion without the nWo. It did a great job of putting guys over that might not have gotten the push they needed otherwise. It was one of the biggest angles this company’s seen, it really flipped the whole game so I think it as a good thing.

Informer: Who do you think benefited the most?

Phenom: I really think I did. I got to show Pheonix and the higher ups my range. That I could play the heel and get heat as well as play the face and get a pop from the crowd. But besides me I think that Glacier and Nightmare really got put over massively, to the point where they’ll be Megastars sooner rather than later.

Informer: You mentioned Glacier, who beat The Wisdom to become The Pheonix Promotion World Heavyweight Champion then after had to give the belt up. What do you think about his progress and what he’s done since arriving here from Pheonix Promotion International?

Phenom: Well it was no secret that PPI was a mess. And guys Like Glacier and Ice had no clue how to really go in a top tier company. Glacier really used his time and really learned the game. He was always very good in the ring, a lot of promise. And now I think he’s staring to deliver on all the promise that he has. Pheonix opens doors to you creatively and Glacier’s walked right through them first it was the PPI stable, then Glacier and Ice, then Mayhem, the he nWo, he’s got the physical tools and the mic skills. Glacier is gonna be a major, major star. That Match with The Wisdom at Shockwave was probably one of the greatest of all time especially between two big men.

Informer: Now that the split has occurred, how do you feel about the way it went down and where do you think you fit into the new scheme of things in terms of the split and in the New Pheonix Promotion?

Phenom: The split to me is like taking three steps back to end up 50 steps forward. It’s gonna be rough at first but I think eventually Pheonix Masters will be the most powerful man in the business. What the split does is create more room for stars and forces people who want it bad enough to step it up in both companies. As far as me fitting in, because I’m a big draw I can fit in anywhere and I think I’ve proved that I’m willing to do just about anything for this company.

Informer: What’s the Status of The Dynasty I guess that’s what you’re callin yourselves these days?

Phenom: I don’t think we’ll be as tight as we were in previous incarnations of The Dynasty or in The nWo, hopefully everyone will be in their own storylines but they won’t have to break us up.

Informer: Do you think that a lot of the weight of the success of The Phoenix Promotion is gonna be put on your shoulders?

Phenom: Well in the past year or so I haven’t really had the ball. Guys like Fury and Ensign and The Wisdom have, I’ve been able to spread my wings creatively because of that fact. But I have talked to Pheonix since Shockwave and he’s basically told me that I’m gonna have to carry a lot of the weight but that’s fine. I guess the advantage of having someone who can score is that you know that you can always give him the ball so it’ll be cool to have the ball again.

Informer: It’s also safe to say the man you’ll be carrying that load with is Ensign Pheonix, what do you think about him and why do you think that the two of you work so well together?

Phenom: Well first off I think it’s our genuine shared love for this company and this business as a whole. Ensign and I have a similar attitude towards this business and The Pheonix Promotion we both ultimately trust the decisions Pheonix makes creatively cause we’ve both seen the pay offs. Even though we have similar attitudes we have different approaches, he’s a little more overtly intense while I’m a bit more laid back so Phenom’s always like Ensign chill out dude. I mean as dangerous as he is in the ring he’s like the Forrest Gump of the Pheonix Promotion.

Informer: So you’re saying he’s stupid?

Phenom: Not at all, what I mean I that the Ensign Pheonix character is so…good and unassuming, he smiles he waves the company flag he kisses the babies and never really does anything dirty so the fans really hate me when I bash his skull in with a chair or toss him into a ring post. No matter what side o the fence we’re on our characters always have a god contrast. I mean he’s not my best friend but he’s one hell of an athlete.

Informer: What can we expect from The Phenom Character, will we see a return to the classic good guy

Phenom: Well nothing’s set in stone Pheonix and I have met about where Phenom’s going next. One thing I can say about Pheonix Masters is that he’s willing to listen and if he decides he needs the good guy I’ll play the good guy. But we’ve been talking about going in a really cool direction so we’ll see how it plays out.

Informer: What will you miss most about the old Pheonix Promotion?

Phenom: Probably the nWo, mainly Glacier. Watching him grow was a great thing to see, and as he became a superstar he never got a big head or a bad attitude, working both shows as well. Having so much talent that I could explore my character, personal stuff.

Informer What are you looking forward too?

Phenom: Getting the ball, going in new directions, having less talent and telling better stories, working with new people, the roar of the crowd, and all the other wrestling clichés.

Informer: Tune in next week for another edition of backstage and an interview with The Man Himself Pheonix Masters
