Week In Review

What a week we had on Pheonix Enterprises programming this week as the first week of programming after the Roster Split as The Pheonix Promotion and The MWI pull a sellout crowd and massive ratings it’s first week in. Of course with all the curiosity and buzz surrounding this whole thing that was a given, but let’s take a closer look at what actually happened on the programming

Blaze

Blaze definitely was an entertaining show, we’re really seeing this new 60/40 balance work in terms of The Pheonix Promotion, and the wrestling was spectacular as well. We’re definitely seeing Pheonix’s vision for the NEW Pheonix Promotion right away as they hit the ground runnin on all cylinders.

Some Highlights for me were Nobody’s promo’s. Nightmare’s spots at the bar and The NEW Phenom vs. Ensign war. Pheonix knows that this rivalry is money and this new direction they seem to be taking Phenom in is unbelievable. I’m also curious to see what’s goin on with Generation X.

What we get from watching Blaze is that this is most definitely a TV product. They try to stage it in the arena as best as possible but the fans get ancy from seeing less wrestling then they are used to, but the things they saw were definitely captivating. The New stars seem to be stepping up to the plate quite nicely and adjusting tot heir new roles. Vic Vegas is impressive as he powerbombs his way into Nuclear Legacy’s bad graces, and Mr. Showtime IS the star we all knew that he was.

Blaze on the whole was a great show.

Massacre

Massacre was a solid show. You can’t expect much more than that from a brand new fed. The matches were fantastic and Hardcore that much we know for sure. We didn’t really see the 60/40 balance that well as the massacre card was almost completely absent of feuds or concrete stories. We’re not seeing Pheonix’s vision for the MWI yet as the baby is just being born and hasn’t gotten use of its legs yet much less goin in any concrete direction.

Some Highlights of the show were Johnny Rotten’s promos, this guys got mic skills for days and putting him with Paul Maxx was a stroke of genius these two are fantastic young stars, reminiscent of the classic Rock Triple H rivalries that catapulted both to megastardom. The Tag Team Title match was also great to watch. That Luchador like pile up outside of the ring was very cool.

What we got from Massacre is that the MWI is working to establish their identity starting with their work ethic in the ring and they all got wild and crazy in that ring Thursday. The Key for The MWI being a success is for them to establish a solid face besides The Wisdom and get the storyline aspect of the product together. They also need talent, with Blade The Detroit Devil and

Massacre on the whole was a good show

Who Won This Week

To me it would definitely have t be Blaze this week. I suspect it will be a couple of weeks before Massacre becomes a great show. Pheonix knows that a quick fix will solve what could be a ratings problem but he knows that ratings 3 and 6 months from now are better than high ratings 3 weeks from now.

That’s all for the week in Review…See ya Later
