Subject: 2007 Kia Sorento (Lemon) Columbus Ohio

The ingnorance falls on the person that beleives that this problem could not happen to them. KIA is not being picked out by anyone. The complaints that I have read are very similar to my experience. For every one person out there that has had no problems there are probably five that have, if not more.

I purchased a 2007 Kia Sorento in June 2007 with 4 miles. Since that time it has been in the shop 7 times for repairs. It has had two transmissions a faulty passenger airbag sensor and numerous other issues. The last time it was in the shop they determined that the new transmission is bad and not repairable at this time and the airbag sensor is not repairable at this time. This decision came directly from Kia. Because I would not accept the unreasonable offer they submitted to me I was told to pick up the vehicle until this was settled. Kia and the dealer knowing that the 2nd transmission is bad and the passenger airbag is not working did not care. I was offered no assistance by either. When I picked the vehicle up I requested something in writing stating that they consider the vehicle safe for me to drive with these problems. Of course no one would do that. It has taken me so much time and effort to try and get help on this. To this date I am still driving this vehicle that I consider to be unsafe.

Kia has tried to strong arm me with threats such as if you do not take our offer this could take you several years and a lot of money. I was also told not to worry that my passenger airbag is not working as long as I don't have a passenger this is not a problem. What kind of remark is that coming from someone that is suppose to put safety first according to their Kia advertisements.

It is not the vehicle being a lemon that is the problem because you can get a lemon in anything.

IT IS THE WAY YOU ARE TREATED BY KIA MOTORS WHEN YOU HAVE A PROBLEM. THERE IS NO LOYALTY TO THE CUSTOMER FROM KIA WHAT SO EVER. THEY DO NOT RETURN CALLS. THEY TALK TO YOU LIKE YOU ARE AN IDIOT AND FORGET ABOUT TRYING TO REACH SOMEONE HIGHER UP THAN WHO YOU ARE ASSIGNED TO BECAUSE THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN.

I am not new to Kia vehicles I have had several in the past, but after the way I have been treated they have lost a customer for Life. I hope by sharing my experience that anyone considering a KIA, will RECONSIDER!!!!!!!
