Olamide- maybe I should go beg for her back
John- go do it
Olamide- you think she’ll take me back?
John- no, but it’s worth a try
Olamide- at least I can tell her how I feel and give her some kind of explanation about what happened
John- go, do it now
Olamide leaves and drives to Clara’s house; Kaylonie opens the door.
Kaylonie- what the hell are you doing here?
Olamide- hi to you too Kaylonie
Kaylonie- nigga I don’t have nuthin to say to you
Olamide- is Clara home?
Kaylonie- no! (About to slam the door in his face)
Olamide- (stops her) wait Kaylonie! Where is she?
Kaylonie- nigga I don’t know …am I my sister’s keeper? I think not, anywayz if I knew where she was I wouldn’t tell you anywayz because you’ve already put her through too much
Olamide- yeah but I’m tryin to change that
Kaylonie- what? You think after all this my sister is gonna take you back?
Olamide- it’s worth a try
Kaylonie- it’s worth trying to get off her doorstep before I shoot you
Olamide- you don’t understand how much I love your sister
Kaylonie- no! But I do understand how much you hurt her (slams the door in his face)
Olamide drove around downtown LA with no place to go. He made a U-Turn and drove to Clara’s job. When he got there the only person there was Marques, but he wasn’t of any help, all he said was that she had left. Marq seemed like he wasn’t too friendly when it came to Olamide. Olamide knew Marq knew about the break up between him and Clara and how much it hurt her. If they only knew; it hurt him just as much. Olamide gave up on looking for her after about 3 hours of driving and a tank full of gas. He went home and tried her on her cell phone. He tried 20 times without an answer. He eventually fell asleep but he woke up about 2 that morning and tried again, and this time, he got an answer.
The first place Clara and Omari went was to the mall to buy swimsuits then they went to the beach.
Omari- (walking to some shade with Clara) wanna race?
Clara- I’d love to but I can’t swim
Omari- aww that’s too bad …wanna learn?
Clara- yeah …eventually
Omari- come on, let me teach you
Clara- (shrugs) what the heck …what do I have to loose? Except my life …naw never mind
Omari- come on, don’t be a scary cat (pulls her toward the water) come on it’s not as hard as it looks
Clara- I’m not worrying about the hard part, I’m worrying about the drowning part
Omari- do you think I’d let you drown?
Clara- yes
Omari- dang! You didn’t sugar coat that or anything …why u think imma let you drown?
Clara- cuz I remember Olamide said …”Do you think I’d ever break your heart?” and he did, so I don’t trust what any man tells me …sorry, but the good has to suffer with the bad
Omari- you’re funny, but seriously, even though both of our names start with O doesn’t mean we’re alike, I’d never break your heart, I meant let you drown
Clara- (playing) but you’d break my heart
Omari- naw …I wouldn’t break your heart either
Clara- okay, you ready to teach me how to swim?
Omari- yep
Clara- please keep your word
They went in the water just far enough to where Clara couldn’t stand up on touch the bottom. It was hard teaching her how to swim because she was scared but Omari was patient with her and as soon as she learned to trust him he taught her how to doggy paddle but after that they were both tired.
Omari- look Clara you got it!
Clara- okay I’m tired give me your hand
Omari- (grabs her so she won’t sink) told you I wouldn’t let you drown
Clara- (smiles) that took a lot of work
Omari- that’s cuz you were so scared …I told you to trust me
Clara- well I did eventually, but you kept letting me go
Omari- I couldn’t hold you the entire time …you would have never learned to swim like that
Clara- well I’m tired and I wanna get out of this water
Omari- me too
They start walking out of the water.
Clara- my hair is a mess
Omari- don’t you mean your fro
They laugh.
Omari- I’m just playin …I gotta take these braids out and get them redone
Clara- yeah I need to wash mine I may blow dry it straight
Omari- who does your hair?
Clara- me
Omari- really?
Clara- yeah
Omari- dang I’m surprised
Clara- why
Omari- I thought rich and famous people had some one to do everything for them
Clara- well not me …I wanna sit out in the sun and dry for awhile
Omari- aiight
They walk over to their shade spot and put on suntan lotion UV protection baby!
Clara- can you do my back?
Omari- if you do mine
Clara- deal (hands Omari the lotion)
Omari- aiight (starts putting the lotion on her back)
Clara- (thinking: dang his hands are so soft) thanx (lotions his back)
Omari- (lays in a beach chair) you know what
Clara- what?
Omari- imma take these braids out right now and wash my hair when I get home
Clara- need some help?
Omari- sure
Clara- (gets a comb out of her purse) come on, put a towel down so you can sit over here
Omari- okay (sits down in front of Clara)
Clara- (starts taking out Omari’s braids) who braids your hair?
Omari- some lady named Rosin, she charges a grip too, but she’s the only one I know who braids
Clara- how much does she charge?
Omari- well she charges me $70 and $20 extra for designs
Clara- hell naw!
Omari- I know right
Clara- I can braid your hair for free
Omari- you know how to braid?
Clara- yeah, me and my sister used to braid each other’s hair all the time
Omari- really? So you’re just multi-talented huh?
Clara- well you know how I do
They laugh
Omari- coo …can you braid it today?
Clara- sure …I don’t have anything else to do
Omari- aiight
Clara- where am I gonna braid it at? I’m not tryin to go back to my house
Omari- coo, you can braid it at my house
Clara- aiight
