Date Posted: 14:41:13 01/05/03 Sun My Time To Shine "Time" PIC COMING SOON (Shining Armor X Queen Of Faeries) This 1y/o Mahogany Bay Irish Warmblood colt is going to be and AWESOME eventer. He has the conformation and attitude to go to the top in eventing. He will mature 17hh-17.3hh. He is a spirited yearling and is very bold. He is a sweetie and loves kids and adults. One weird thing he does is when you give him a treat he will lick your hand after to get all the taste off of your hand. NOT UP FOR STUD YET Saddle drops Kelsey off at Shayla's and Shayla leads Kelsey to Time's stall. "Here he is, He leads OK and hes pretty good about grooming, but i'll let you alone to work with him" Shayla tells her. Kelsey gets the colt's halter off his stall and walks in, holding out a small piece of apple. Time eagerly grabs the apple and eats it while Kelsey puts his halter on. then she leads him through his stall door. He tries to push past her and walk out first so she patiently backs him up until his tail touches the back of his stall, then she leads him up to the stall door again, halts him and then takes a step, making him stand for a minute before letting him take a step so his head was even with her shoulder. She repeats the process until he is completely out of his stall. Then she crossties him and starts to groom him. He nips at her while she brushes his face, so she puts a chain shank over his nose and puts pressure on it every time he tries to nip. Soon he realizes that every time he nips there is an uncomfortable pressure on his nose and he quickly stops nipping. She takes the shank off and tries to pick up his feet. He snorts and dances away nervously. "Its ok, Time" she tells the colt. She patiently keeps trying to lift his feet and finally he gives in and lets her. Next she combs out his fuzzy mane and tail and gives him a treat. He licks her hands and tries to nip a few times, but she gently puts pressure on the noseband of his halter and he quickly stops. Next she leads him to the round pen and walks him around, getting him used to the sights and smells of the pen. Once he is relaxed, she takes him back to the barn, grooms him again. This time he is much better about grooming. She ends the session by leading him in and out of his stall several times, until he doesnt try to rush past her.
