When I first read this spoiler, I was upset cause it was a possibility that ended this trilogy.

It sounded real enough, but it seemed like a sucky ending...

But something didn't add up... You say that the system needed a direct link with Smith to delete him, right?
I don't understand how Neo was that link between Ai and Smith when they had enough Agents that were taken over by Smith.

I mean there were enough people connected to the matrix already, and system software like Agents as direct links so why wasn't the system able to connect with Smith when he was taking over their bodies?
