Stop right here, I don't think she is the next one because they say she is a program, they do and the sky at the end, I think that that was her purpose (to control the colors of the sky or somethin).

The new programs are created into the limbo train area and are sent where ever from there. In this case they went to see the french man to know they purpose, (the train goes into the matrix or into the machine programing, kinda like a program plug-in) they had to go back in the end but got to leave their daugther.

I believe that the fact that he doesnt take the candy shows that he is aware that what the oracle says is the choice he has over two things. So instead of letting it get to him he takes the choice of not eating the candy.
