The instrument creation was a really cool way of bringing a fresh new approach to a traditional style of music. I agree with Heather in that the sense of community that the two girls so excitedly told us about made me want to go to a festival as well. All of the speakers we have had so far have been so dedicated to playing their instruments and engaging in the bluegrass community that it makes me wish i had a similar passion for something. Although both of the girls were fairly young, I think they knew enough about the bluegrass scene to accurately describe what we should expect if we wanted to go. I really like how everyone of our guests has mentioned how open most the members are to newer people.
