I have thought about music having a political agenda, but not in the same manner as Phil. Songs by the Beatles, Michael Franti, and numerous reggae artists have political agendas in their lyrics. But it had never crossed my mind that music could have political agendas through not only through the lyrics, but the beats and rhythms also. The case of the Clash and the Nazis was wild. The fact that the Nazis only come to their shows because of the marching beat in the songs, and don't even listen to the lyrics stuns me. This was an awesome presentation and I hope we recieve more like them.
