I use a flux core welder for hobby works. Problem is, I have no way of knowing if the bead I lay down is a "good" bead. Can someone please tell me, what a decent bead from a 115v flux core welder should look like? I think my welds are good and solid, they look it, but when I look at my dad's welds from his stick welder, the welds look completely different. His look like melted lava, while mine look almost like a line of solder???? Is this just because of the differences between the two types of welders? When I use his stick welder, I get the same types of weld that my dad gets (the lava looking weld)??? any input
would be great.
