I agree with you that certain people would be inclined to brag about their IQ test scores and belittle those who didn't score as well. I also believe that, especially with a child or adolescent, that telling them they have a low score would be very detramental. The child could stop trying because he has now been told he's not smart enough to excell. However, a child that has spirit and keeps trying can overcome his low score, if he hasn't been told that he can't.

I also believe that test scores do not always reflect a person's knowledge because many people 'freeze' on a test. This might keep someone from scoring high. On the other hand, a person may be 'book smart' but have no capacity to put those smarts to use in real life.

I did not do as well on the culture fair test. Pictures and perception is not my forte. I believe that scoring well on the emotional test would come with age and life experiences. Therefore a person who is not as wordly might not do as well on the test, but could be extremely smart otherwise.

By the way, using context clues and elimination only proves that you are smart because you found a way to solve the problem and answer the question correctly. It isn't always about knowing the answer, it's about being able to get to the correct answer - and you did that.

I'm truly glad you enjoyed the math and logic part of the tests. Next time, I'll have you come over and do that part for me and I'll do the vocabulary for you. Deal?
