But there ARE shounen manga that have totally awesome, strong female characters in them. I have no idea why CLAMP felt they had to, and this is a totally inappropriate word, but maybe not so much so if you think about it, "castrate" their females for Tsubasa or Chobits.

One of the things that is so great about Sakura in her own manga is that she's very androgynous. And I don't mean this in the fact that she is both genders. I mean this in terms of the feminist concept that children can be raised to be able to change a tire (a.k.a. something stereotypical to males) just as well as they cook or clean (something stereotypical to females) regardless of whether or not they are male or female. It's more about knowing how to take responsiblity for oneself and ones responsibilites than about gender. Sakura can kick ass and still be a girl. She's a fabulous example of a very strong character.

Now, the CHOBITS girls on the other hand... >.<
