It is so confusing at times, you hear that you should be there for them and should encourage them. When you have a grandchild involved though it is almost impossible to do that. You can't protect the child and be there for your own child at the same time because emotions get involved and you can't let your emotions take over because you have to protect your grandchild no matter what. I just wish that it was easier to know what to do. I pray every day that God will guide me and that his will be done in this situation. It is still hard though because I miss who my daughter use to be and we use to be really close, but now I have not heard from her since Christmas. She has supervised visitation with her daughter twice a week and that worries me because the person that supervises them is the other grandmother and she is a bigger enabler then I am and I worry that if my daughter and her boyfriend get in a fight or are using then the other grandmother will not do anything about it.

I just pray that things will work out and that someday my daughter will have a relationship with her daughter even if we do end up adopting her.
