Bren,

Don't feel guilty at all! You probably saved your daughter's life. A meth addict's life expectency is very short. They go downhill very fast!

My husband said to me while I was driving him to court (regarding the first time I put him in jail) that I only made the call that put him there...he did the crime that sent him there. I think he knew deep down that I also made the call that sent him to prison for the second time and he was going to prison instead of the probation he had plea bargained for.

Although drugs are still available in prison or jail, it is not enough to have them spiral downward the way they do on the streets. At least you will know where she is and that she is getting 3 squares a day.

Now for the hard part....DO NOT send her money while she is in there. Everything she NEEDS is provided for her...even stamps to send letters if she has no money. Sending her money provides the ability to get drugs and the extras that she doesn't need to survive.

Letters and visits will be more important to her than money.

Good luck and God bless!
