Like I've read and saw for myself, trading one addiction for another.............doesn't make you clean, just takes the place of meth for awhile. I watched Spencer put alcohol in its place and drink every single night. WE weren't together but it still was an addiction that took him away from being a responsible dad, man, etc etc. Then he went back to meth. Apparently he is clean now, and doing something about his parenting. We'll see. I hope he does cause really if he can stay off drugs and alcohol, he could be a great person and a great dad that my son does in fact need.
I hope your daughter is on the road to getting her butt in recovery and stop making excuses. But you have to tell her those things too. Tell her to her face not to make those excuese. The school will still be standing. She could do it all if she wanted to or if she chooses to and puts her mind to it. There are meetings everyday and people who will guide her if she will only let them. Has to be her choice.
Stay strong. I know how difficult this is for you.
