Hi Kelly2,
I've missed you but I'm happy to see you're still coming around. I don't think we'll ever be rid of the insanity because it is sin - in it's purest form for those who are still using. For those who are not, like your wife and my husband, it's still sin but without the "witchcraft" chemicals. The character defects are still there deeply.
Does she go to meetings? It helps because there are a lot of sharing from people who are able to spot those that are feeling sorry for themselves and can call them on their stuff. It also helps that she sees those that are hurting from the sin and need help. It will bring her humility and also can help take her out of her self-pity. I highly recommend a program called Celebrate Recovery. We run this program in our church and it's helped me and my husbna and many in our community to go thru the steps with a twist that we commit to our Higher Power - Jesus. AA meetings are awesome and for you especially, I pray that you can find an Al-Anon. Most of all, I pray for your peace.
Being married, you should be having sex - that is a gift from God in marriage and withholding that, unless there's a physical reason, is not right. She has no right to withhold that from you. She needs to be humbled and stop feeling sorry for herself. Nice to hear from you, I am praying for you.
God Be with you,
Hulalea
