Seems like you are on the right road.
And if you choose to go to the court date, that is fine. Cause you want to see what the judge says to him and charges him with. And do not stand up for him, let him face his own consequences. Being supportive if he is really recovering is different. We will see if the judge orders rehab. It is better if he made the decision to go in on his own because that is usually when they are serious about being clean. He is drinking - first sign that he is not serious. An addict must stay clean from all substances. Can't replace one for the other. So watch out for that. My ex hubby did that. Was clean from meth for 5 or 6 months but turned to alcohol everyday, then he went back to meth and wouldn't of stopped if it weren't for someone threatening that he would be back on the streets which he did not want again. So anyhow, basically the choice is his and nothing, no one, can make that choice except him.
