Thanks so much to all of you for your responses. I absolutely will stay strong and insist that he must undergo treatment before I will let him come home. He is facing charges for domestic violence, possession of illegal narcotics and loaded firearms. His court date is next Tuesday - and I'm not sure if I should attend?? Over the past 2 days he's been staying at a hotel. We have exchanged a few emails, I spoke with my sister-in-law, who has been through similar incidents with her husband (my husband's brother), and she picked up some clothes for him. Today I had an appointment with a marriage counselor - alone - and I brought him some more clothes and paperwork to get the impounded car released. I was very anxious seeing him. He's very remorseful and looks terribly depressed. Didn't look like he'd been using - but is drinking and smoking alot. I'm concerned because he still hasn't signed up for treatment - claims he has to wait until after his court date. We will have to dissolve our business - he can't get clearance anymore to work with most of our clients. I have loan proceeds I can use for a few months to live off of, but will have to find another source of income soon. Thanks again... I'll keep reading on this site.
