You left the door open with the email, now it is their turn to decide to walk through it. Remember, it's their son that is the addict and I am sure they are feeling the pain as well. You did the right thing by letting them know they are welcome to have communication with their granchild. I did the same thing with Spencer's family. They have had nothing to do with my son and I am not pushing it. I rather give my son that attention and not worry about what and who is not in his life. Kids feel the tension. After this court date you have, it is my opinion that you just let it go. You leave it in God's hands and move on with your life. I know it is hard, I am living it as well, but it is healthier.
