When I lived in my last house, I used to hear from time to time a party going on. It was nowhere and everywhere, if you know what I mean. I would hear glasses chinking and people laughing and talking over the sound of a band playing, but could never actually hear what they were saying. I found out that up until the late 50s, a manor house stood on what is now a close of bungalows, so I assume this is a remnant from those days. We also had (still have, as it is my sister's house) the very strong ghost of who we know to be a man called Arthur. We used to pick up all sorts of hostile feelings whenever he was around and he seemed to take great pleasure in frightening us and guests at 3 or 4 in the morning especially by rapping on the furniture in one particular bedroom and calling out the guests name. I did a bit of discrete asking around of some people who had lived in that street for years and they were able to tell me that he was really henpecked in life and, it would seem, was now having a bit of fun.
