My message would be:
Take a look at Scripture and you’ll find that the Last Supper was the Passover Seder (Service). No leaven was used at Passover, they went to great lengths in every Jewish home to be sure not even a crumb of leaven was in the house during this Feast. This comes from the time of Moses when the Children of Israel were in such a hurry to leave Egypt that they didn’t have time to let the bread rise. Now your Church may have done this in ignorance. Most Pastors in the Church today know nothing of Jewish custom or Law. That’s a pity but it’s still reality. If that’s the case, gently show them the way. If done in the right spirit, they have a better chance of receiving it. If they refuse to acknowledge that the Bible has anything to do with Jewish custom or culture, I’d look for another Church to attend. I would prefer that those who understand Messianic Judaism don’t leave all their Churches but would rather stay in them and try to guide from within. But if you find any hostility towards Jewish custom, the Land of Israel or the Jewish people… cut and run, they’re going no where. Your situation is perfect really, what a better way to find out their attitude and direction then by addressing or bringing to their attention something that would seem so minor to them as leaven or unleavened? Perfect!
