Shalom beHaShem,
I agree that we are all guilty for His death. If we've sinned once, we are guilty... and all have sinned.
I do have to wonder about "Jesus" films though. I'm not so sure we should be doing plays, or movies, or television shows about the Passion. I have done plays myself and played both the parts of Jesus and Satan. I was with YWAM back then and we went all over the US doing these kinds of performances. I did see many people come to the L-rd but I'm not positive that that wasn't because of the play or in spite of the play. If I was to say one-way or the other, I would say it's better not to. The actor playing "Jesus” was struck by lightning. That's not a good thing lol. We're not even supposed to have engraven images of Him and film is exactly that, an engraven image. Some might see that as legalistic, but 20 years ago, keeping Shabbat was considered legalistic in my Church. I think we can be creative and find better ways to give the message rather then having people playing the part of Yeshua. I know whenever I played the part of the Devil, I always felt dirty afterward, I think there's something to that. I wouldn't bank my Salvation on this idea, but I think it's something we should ponder.
Shalom,
Rabbi Stanley
