For anyone who can make it.... banjoist/guitarist, Rick Dunham will be subbing as a Billy on Tuesday and Thursday. He tells me that he and fiddle player, Candy Girard have a new CD out that features all new songs with banjo player, Pat Cloud performing as well. Pat also currently works as the new plectrum banjo player in the Disneyland Band. More info on the new CD entitled "Shadybrook" will be available as soon as possible.

Wow! I'm really enjoying my new camera and here are literally dozens of pictures to prove it. Even a few fans are in the shots.

Thank you so much for sending those pics for me! I really appreciate it! I just got done looking at the area 51 site and saw all the wonderful pics of everyone! I am going to miss everyone so much when I move in a few weeks. For those of you that didn't know I am relocating with my job out of state. Actually across the united states! The Golden Horseshoe Rehab -- Jan, 00:53:46 08/27/06 Sun (cip-64-155.bbs.surfcity.net/66.116.64.155)
According to the Disney Entertainment website, the Horseshoe goes "down" on September 5th and is scheduled to "reopen" on September 29th. There is no mention of Billy Hill on the website up through the beginning of October. Management is being very tight lipped.

Unless new information comes to light in the next week..... so far, the guys have been told they will be taking a brief few weeks of vacation followed by a week or so of rehearsals. They are not scheduled at this time to play outside in Frontierland. For the first time in MANY YEARS, Disneyland will be briefly Billy-less.

I just wanted to again express my deepest apologies to Denver Dave for accusing him of being "Silent Bob". I had posted an apology earlier but it has since been erased. I was merely outraged on behalf of my friends for the terrible things being said about them. I put too much stock in using IP addresses to identify people and have since realized that anyone from AOL could be the culprit or a good hacker that can manipulate things like that. I am very happy to be wrong on this occasion and have apologized to Dave privately but also wanted to make my feelings known to everyone. Thanks for bearing with me :)

I love the unexpected! Today during the third show, The Billys finished their Beatles number, than Dennis took the stage to do OBS. One by one the guys came out and lined up behind Dennis as usual, until Rick and Kirk both looked over at Anders to see that he was still in his RINGO wig and without hat. Both of them started smiling at first, the smiles grew wider and than out in out laughing. This caused the audience to notice and begin laughing as well. Anders suddenly realized why they were laughing and clapping and slowly backed up behind the curtain. Dennis in the meantime has no clue why people are laughing and clapping at his version of OBS, when he finally turns around, Anders has returned sans wig and with hat. So Dennis was clueless until the end of the show. It was fun to see Kirk and Rick laughing so hard.

For those of you who haven't already heard - Tarantula Tom and I are flying to Seoul on August 18th (at 1:00 a.m.)for a week to attend the International Federation of Libraries Association, and then on to Hong Kong (and maybe Maccau) for about another week. Of course, we will vist the new Disneyland there. It's my first trip overseas so I'm very excited. We'll be thinking of you all!

As many of you know, last week said farewell to several musical groups at Disneyland. Swing Souffle, the Firehouse Quartet and the Main Street Mercantile Band were dismantled and select musicians were picked to make one Dixieland Interactive Band (after the marching band finishes in the morning).

Well, as of Sept. 4, 2006, we say goodbye to 3 more musical groups. The weekend of Sept. 4 sees the last musical performances of the Side Street Strutters, the Bayou Brass and the River Rascals. It is unknown at this time what will be planned for the NOS area. The only musicians being kept are the Royal Street Bachelors and Ernie. The Side Street Strutters have been playing jazz in NOS for over 20 years. The River Rascals have been playing their Cajun/Zydeco music for the past 7 years. Bayou Brass has been around for at least 5 years, but could be longer.

Disney Management is making these changes for who knows why but this author wonders why they would take away all the atmospheric charm of NOS?

I had the unexpected pleasure of donning the coveted overalls yesterday and stumbling through some Billy shows on bass and guitar. I had forgotten how much fun it was, and what a great bunch of guys play in that group. Since being blessed (?!) with a full time Disney work schedule three or four years ago, I seldom get to do this anymore. Oh, and the air conditioning is nice too. It's too bad this happened because John M.'s sore leg is acting up, but he is back on solid food now. (Just kidding John, get better soon!)

Christine, Ken and I went to the Pirate movie event on Thursday night at Disneyland and for entertainment during dinner, guess who performed? None other than the Billy Blue team, going under the piratical name of "The Marooners"! Dennis, Kirk, Rick and Anders were dressed up in pirate costumes and played bluegrass music with a pirate flavor. They also learned real pirate jigs, like "16 Men On a Dead Man's Chest" and got the audience to participate. They were great...my regret that I had not brought my camera with me during the dinner to take pictures and only got a picture of them with my little cell phone camera.

At midnight, after the dinner, we got to see the movie "Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest". It was excellent and a definite "to be continued" as the movie ended in the middle of a scene. If you go to the movie, make sure you stay through all the credits. There is a short scene at the end of the movie that explains what happens to one of the characters. The third Pirate movie will be out next Memorial Day weekend, and I believe it's currently entitled "Pirates of the Caribbean: At The End of the World".

OK, so Jeramie and I were a little frustrated that we could only fit family and ultra-close friends in the wedding site (blame my parents), so we have planned a Disneyland trip as a sort of pre-celebration celebration that can include our larger circles of friends.

We will be there riding rides, watching shows, and eating fun food all day on Friday, August 4, as will the wedding party and both of our families. It would be great to see any and all of you there, too (I know you were planning to go in August sometime anyway!) if you can make it. This would be a great excuse for a reunion, plus you could meet Jeramie if you haven't already.

I know most of y'all have passports, but just in case: My company has a Disneyland discount, but you have to order tix in advance so they can be mailed to you. If you want to buy discount tix, visit www.marcyandjeramie.com and click on "visitors."

Tomorrow, Saturday June 24th, Disneyland will be closing at 6 p.m. for the star-studded premiere of "POTC: Dead Man's Chest". For those of you who were at the park for the first one, you'll remember what a nightmare it was getting around that day. So if you want to avoid the hassle, wait until Sunday to enjoy the park. :)

DCA will remain open longer hours to compensate for the early closure of Disneyland.

I'm finally working on a plan to come visit Disneyland and the Horseshoe - and hopefully see some of you. I haven't been there since the 50th last July.

I'm looking at the period around September 11-18. I saw a reference to the Golden Horseshoe rehab being put off until "late September". Does anyone have reliable info on when the Horseshoe might be closed down for sure. I would hate to come all that way and not see any Billies!

The Odd Couple was Neil Simon's second and one of his most successful full- length plays. It opens when Oscar's Friday night poker game is interrupted by the news that Felix, one of the game's regulars, has left his wife after sending her a suicide telegram. When Felix arrives, his every move is interpreted as a suicide attempt. Oscar calms him down and suggests he moves in with him. But Felix is a hyper- allergic, fanatic for organization and cleanliness, while Oscar is a cigar-smoking, compulsive slob. The characteristics that drove each of them to leave their wives soon have them at each other's throats. Although, they still feel it is a good idea to live with each other in order to save money for alimony and

Some of you might have noticed that Billy Bass is not playing his usual doghouse bass and instead is playing a prettier, newer looking bass. Well, Disney techs accidentally knocked over his bass backstage and broke it up pretty good. So Billy Bass had to bring in his classical bass. You might notice him not slapping it quite as much. He is reluctant to slapp it since it's his nice concert bass.

Cory was in this weekend and he did a great job as usual. The audience was laughing, and hootin' and hollerin' extremely loudly during the last show on Saturday. !!!

I debated with myself whether to share this tidbit or not. But just gave in with myself. Last Wednesday the Billy's had 3 1/2 sets of twins in the front area of the GH during their performance. Kirk wished the two 16 girls in Walt's booth a Happy Birthday and pointed my twin and I out as this would be what to look forward to. (We had on Goofy hats!)

There were also identical twin boys in the front row directly in front of us, and a young lady next to them who said she was a twin who was not with her that day.
