With my boys build-a-bear toys, i usually get a bowl of hot soapy water and a brush and just sort of surface clean/scrub them. it worked pretty well, even after isaac's bout with the stomach flu...never tried the pillowcase thing, sounds like a good idea worth trying. i was always worried, putting them in the washer, that the inside of the animals might not really dry all the way and then get moldy.
With their other/non-plush toys, i just put them in a bowl of diluted bleach...
tried the homemade baby food thing once...only once. My mom had us in her hippy phase and that's what she did. I think you can pretyy much just blend up anything that has been cooked, or fresh fruits. Not much help, i know!
BTW, just finished Twilight. Really darn good...just bought the sequel. Thanks for the tip on that one!!
