MURPHY LIVES!
Due to a flood at Stratford High School, we have had to move the venue for the Southern CT State Feis (Lenihan). The feis will be held as scheduled on Sunday, Nov 7 at a NEW LOCATION:
JONATHAN LAW HIGH SCHOOL
20 LANSDALE AVE
MILFORD CT 06460

I-95 North or South to Exit 34, toward Milford. Take a left at the light onto US1 (Bridgeport Avenue). Take a right onto Lansdale Ave.
We have had our Feis there in the past, so it may be familiar to some.

Teachers and/or competitors will be called (as many as possible). Please pass this info along to anyone you know who may be going. Thanks.

The stage schedule will be posted in the next few days.

Has anyone firmed up plans for the Oireachtas now that we know who is in teams? Anyone find they have a room available for Fri. and Sat. nights? I really could use one. Mary is hoping to come to the Oireachtas but can not consider it if she can not stay in her own room at the venue because she is traveling with a toddler (ALANAGH!). She'd love to come see everyone, so if anyone has a room, please let me know. Mary is trying to firm up her travel plans. If you know of anyone from another school who is changing their room situation, I'd love to hear all options.

Hope everyone is having a great summer! I know I am, work has been busy, but I have been able to take a few dance classes...man, I'm I out of shape!! Well, I'll be home for a few weeks in August for vacation, and I would like to take my mom to a feis just for fun, does anyone know of any in CT during Aug??? Someone posted a nice breakdown of the results for each school. Our school results were as follows.
The number in ( ) indicates the number of North Americans who placed. So in looking at Mandy's you'd see she placed 38 overall, she was the 28th highest North American, there were 40 awarded and 29 of those awards went to North Americans.

I am trying to get into a dance class at Tir Na Greine School of Iris Dance just to get back into shape, I met a really great teacher names Laura O'Sullivan. Hey guys,

I am so proud of the entire school! You are all doing so well with the dancing.

Well I am finally graduating next week! I can't believe 4 years of college went by SO FAST! Anyway I am moving down to Orlando Florida on Monday May 24th (the day after I graduate) I know, it seems kind of rushed, but what can I say, I am a girl in a hurry! Back from the New Hampshire Feis. We never did this feis before. The O'Shea-Chaplin school did a good job and kept to the time schedule. A two day feis with champs and teams on Saturday. Sarah placed 2nd in Treble Reel and 3rd in Championship Jig/Hornpipe in the morning. In the afternoon, she placed 3rd in solos. And now we have the remainder of the holiday weekend.

For everyone going to Nationals -
There are so many "extra" things offered at Nationals this year! To help in planning your time in Philadelphia, there are information packets for everyone at the studio. Included in the packets are the competition schedules, special tours in the Philadelphia area, programs for children, and lots of evening entertainment. Some forms have deadlines which are listed. Several forms need to filled out and given to John if you wish to participate.

Another great weekend for the O'Keefe School. Lizzie got 1st on Saturday at the Mulvihill-Lynch Feis. I so far have heard that Allie Wheway got 2nd at Putnum. I will post more results as they come in. Great job everyone! Congratulations!!!!!

Emma's first championship dress is for sale again (the white/silver one we bought from Sarah Coleman. The woman who got it from me fixed it up and replaced all the glitter dots that had fallen off and it's still in great shape. you could probably buy it for around $575-$600, I think she's asking $650. The raffle was successful enough to cover the expenses for Nationals registrations for the fifteen students attending in July!!!

This is the last call for any raffle items! If you still have things to donate please do so by Saturday and leave them at the studio. Some people are bringing their contibutions to the feis already complete, we appreciate that effort!! Please remember to wrap your donation in basket wrap (plastic), as we cannot have loose items that can be lifted by little hands that will want to "inspect" !!! We do not have the time to assemble baskets on Sunday, there will be enough to do, so please be sure that whatever you've done is complete and ready to go, thanks very much!!
The tickets will sell for 1 for $1.00, 6 for $5.00 and 15 for $10.00..... thanks again for your kind support.

Thank you to all of you who donated to our basket raffle for the feis on Sunday!!! We should have several nice baskets to raffle off. The raffle "take" will offset the registrations for the dancers attending the Nationals in July. There will be raffle tickets sold until 3PM at which time the drawings will take place, so don't forget to get your tickets!!!! Tell others to try their luck too; there will be something for everyone: dancers, mom's and dad's, gardeners, lotto players etc... Once again thanks and to those of you who said you would help sell tickets we appreciate your help too! Good luck to all the O'Keefe dancers this weekend!!!!

A very nice day today. The drive down this morning was a breeze.A quick feis. We were in and out. Congrats to Aly W. on her first, two seconds and third. Drive home was slow. Aly did notice another card for O'keefe but did not see the name. Hope they also did well.

A great big thank you to everyone who gave up their time to perform in the shows on Saturday! We were on the road from 1:00, and finished about 9:30.All the shows went very well and were truely appreciated by the people who saw them.
I must say Our Lady of Fatima's treble reel was the BEST! The stage made it sound awesome!
Thanks again to all. We will be performing at the Playwright on Sun.(parade day) at 5:00. Anyone interested should just show up.

Hi to everyone in the O'Keefe school. We are now five weeks in the UK and are beginning to settle in to life in England. Stone village, where we are living is approximately 45 minutes south of Manchester. We are surrounded by beautiful English countryside but I miss the shopping in the USA big time!!!!!! Thankyou to everyone that has sent us e-mails and my apologies for not replying but we only got our new computer last night. So WE ARE FINALLY BACK ON LINE and I promise I will be much better at answering emails from now.
Alanagh is getting so big and has lots of words. She keeps us very busy and loves her new music class here in Stone. She also started swimming class last week but we have no plans to start her dancing just yet!!!!!!!
Alan absolutely loves being back in clinical medicine and of course it is peak rugby season here at present so he is very happy now that he can watch ALL the six nation matches. He says hi to everyone.
Goodluck to everyone in the upcoming feieanna. Alanagh and I are going home this weekend for the Mayo Championships which should be fun. Well done to all of you who were at the All- Irelands and the very very best of luck to Sara, Maryclare, Erin, Ian and Emma at the worlds in Belfast in a few weeks. Hope you are all working very hard.
