The surgery went well, and now i'm recuperating! It'll be a few months on crutches and then maybe i'll be able to get those dancing shoes back on! And i wanted to thank Kathy for the e-mail it brought a smile to my face! :)

Subject: Leah had a good day in New Jersey on Saturday. She placed in all of her dances: 1st in jig (soft) and hornpipe, 2nd in reel and 3rd's in the remainder. The feis was nice and well run. We continued south afterwards for a couple of days on the beach!!

There will be another workshop for the O next week. Classes will be held on Mon.11,from 6/8,Tues.12,from 6/8,and Thurs.14,from 11/1.Cost for the classes is $60.00. Anyone who is interested should call me at 865-7542.These classes are for solo dancers only, not for teams or traditional sets.

There will be classes this Wed.,Thurs.,and Fri.from 4:00 to 6:00 at the studio.These classes will be for Oireachtas solo dancers.There will be new material taught in hard and soft shoe.The cost for the classes is $60.00 per dancer.If interested please call 865-7542 and leave me a message.

Fantastic job Ian on your 1st in open today! and your 2nd yesterday, Sara 3rd yesterday and 2nd today,unfortunately Emma hurt her foot and could not dance(but we know she'll bounce back 100%) Elizabeth I know was top 10 and so was Sara E(I'm not positive on exact placement) Caitlyn got 2nd! Briana got 6th yesterday and 5th today! Abby york and her sister were in Maine yesterday with medals jingling!! and down in Washington Maire Wynn got 3rd,Bridgid got 3rds and I know Candi is down there and the kids got 2nds and 3rds! Christopher got 1st today and Amanda got 3rd. Every did an awesome job! Be proud! I hope I didn't forget anyone!

Just thought I'd let you all know that if you're interested you can send me e-mails when i'm at the hospital to try and cheer me up!! ;) I'm having surgery this friday and i'll be in the hospital for about a week. You can send emails to patient@tch.harvard.edu and put Kerianne Karrass as the subject and they'll print it out and bring it to my room. Hopefully you're all taking it easy for the summer so you'll be ready to work your butts off for the oireachtas. I'll let you know how everything goes!

This web site offeres pretty up to date info on major European dance events like the Worlds, All Irelands and the like. It also has a good page about dress care. Ignore the fact that they recommend a cleaner in London, but the rest of it is useful info.

Did anyone find a pair of soft and hard shoes? They may have gotten mixed up in other people's things at the Big E feis or maybe I left them at the studio. I'm pretty sure they have my name on the bottom, they are a size 3 1/2 hard shoe, size 4 soft shoe. Thanks.

Just happened to see that the dates are out for next year's All Irelands. The hotel that is hosting it has about 150 rooms, so the chances of staying in it are pretty slim. If anyone is going, you might want to start looking into places early on. They are likely to fill up quickly now that the dates are out and the venue is confirmed. If anyone find any place of interest, please post it here!

The Nationals were a great success this past week in Nashville. Everyone danced well and I am very proud of each one of the dancers. Amanda Anderson placed 30th,Erin Murphy placed 3rd,Sara Kosmaczewski placed 32nd,Maire Wynn placed 18th,Ian Kosmaczewski placed 9th,Christopher Anderson placed 23rd,and Emma Kosmaczewski placed 8th.A HUGE congratulations to all of the 2003 National Champions!!!!
The O'Keefe school made a wonderful showing.Thank you to all of the dancers for your hard work and dedication.

We heard that tickets are going fast for the Hoedown in Nashville so we'd like to reserve tickets. They are $30 per person, the event is Saturday night after awards, and should be a lot of fun. everyone did a great job today!!!! It was damp(soaking at times),a bit chilly(whoever thought we would SAY chilly about THIS feis) but we made it through!! I have six orders ready to go, and know of two others who could place an order, bringing the total to 8. We need a min. order of 12 items. If I don't place the order by Monday, we can not have it in time for Nationals, even waiting until Monday is really pushing it. If you want to place an order, please do so asap. If I can not place the order, I will call everyone who filled out an order form next week.

Congratulations to all the 2003 grade school and high school Graduates! Mandy, Maegan, and Caitlin congrats on graduating from high school, good luck in college!!! Ian, Maire, Lizzy, Sarah, Allie and Conor congrats on graduating from grade school, good luck in high school! Many times as we all sit in the back of the studio waiting to dance, one of you has been busily studying a text book, translating something into another language, or writing a report, and now it has finally payed off! God bless you as you are about to begin a new stage in your lives, and may luck follow you wherever life leads you!!!!!!

Great news! The orthopedic surgeon, said today that Ann Marie can come back to dance on Thursday! It's been 13 weeks since we heard that awful cracking sound while practicing at home. Cast, crutches, walking boot, air cast, lots of ibuprofin, and ugly shoes only!!!... Now the break is almost 100% healed! As long as she does no "rocks" for a while she can dance!

Anyone who is interested in ordering a school jacket or pants can find an order form in the studio. All orders must be placed by June 12th to assure delivery before Nationals. Please pass the word around - some parents do not come into the studio and feel they do not get notice on this kind of stuff. Order forms will be in the studio as of today (Monday). If you can not get to the studio to get one, please leave me a message by contacting the Forum Admin (above.

We're just back from a very nice feis. Not only did the kids do well, but it was a nice feis! Of course, we spent most of the day in the auditorium where it was not crowded and not crazy. The results were VERY fast (within a 1/2 hour of finishing the dance in most cases!) and most of the competitions in that room moved along very quickly. Nice people, lots of good competition, and the kids did well! Emma got placed 4th, Sara placed 5th, and low and behold Ian got 1st! I didn't see anyone else from our school at this feis. Has anyone heard how the Cape feis is going?
It was a nice way to start Mother's Day weekend! Happy Mother's day to all you moms too!

Hey everyone, I just wanted to write and say congrats to all the dancers who are doing so well. It seems like everyone is dancing their best! Unfourtunatly I will not be home for most of the summer, so I probably won't get to stop by the studio, but the good news is I am working down at SeaWorld in Orlando again for the summer (I will be home the middle of Aug, but probably traveling for the rest of that month). I notice that I'm not the only former dancer to put something on here (HEY DEIDRE!). Its really hard to grow out of your dancing shoes, so I was wondering if any of us "older" dancers from O'Keefe past can purchase an O'Keefe jacket for prostarity as well as O'Keefe pride? We may not get to compete anymore, but we are still very proud O'Keefe dancers! Please let me know !

We just got back from the feis and every one did great. Emma got 1st, Sara and Mary Claire danced well but did not place, Ian got 3rd, Chris got 1st, Mandy got 2nd, Erin got 1st, Allie got 1st, Marie got 5th, Lizzie got 10th, Shaina got 4th, Caitlin got 3rd, Stephanie got 7th, Briana got 4th, Aislinn got 6th, Jenn got 11th, Erin B. got 12th, Ryan got 14th. Great job everyone. Especially good Job to Allie, Chris, Erin, and Emma who all got 1st.

The feis went well even though the results went kinda slow. Everyone danced well! Emma got 4th,Ian got 3rd,Amanda got 1st,Chris got 8th,Maire got 6th,and Erin M. got 2nd! Sara danced well but, did not place.I do not know how Jen or Briana did even though they both danced well! Congradulations to everyone!!

There will be an open class for feis practice today at the studio. I will be there from 2:00 to 4:00 for anyone who wants to come in and go over their steps. There will be a $10.00 charge for the class.See you this afternoon!

We had quite the day at this one..the only placements were in the under 14 prelim with Chris taking 1st, Allie 4th, and Maire 12th! Congrats to everyone! Mandy, Maryclaire, Jenn, and Erin Buckmiller didn't come in in their competitions and marks were given out on a half a sheet of ripped notebook paper! Results did not seem fair at all for these competitions.I haven't heard how Shaina did so someone please post!..Overall placements for people who did not place were not told, so for those of us who didn't come in, we don't know where we came in. Crazy day and horrible feis other than that one competition that actually seemed fair. Hope everyone is having fun in Ireland!! See you soon!

Just a quick hello from Ireland and a thank you to everyone who sent congrates to Emma. It was an amazing day and she danced well.
Ian and Sara danced well also but did not recall or medal. It's disappointing, but the competition is amazing and they were very happy to be there.
Thanks for the good wishes, I know Emma will be thrilled when she gets home to see them all.

We haven't talked much about the upcoming worlds much on the board. i just want Amanda Sara Erin Ian & Emma to know that we are all soo proud of you and the accomplishmenst you have achieved this past year. Today's class will be held at a new location. The class will be from 5:30 to 8:30, and will be open to everyone who normally comes on Thursday, from 5:00 to 8:00. The location is 591 Whitney Ave. in New Haven. It is on the corner of Cold Spring St. and Whitney, next to the church. It is a wonderful space that I am looking into renting for extra classes. The website has been down and I have not been able to contact everyone. I hope this doesn't cause to much inconvenience. See you all tonight.

Mandy placed 7th, Chris got 2nd, Ian got 4th, Emma got 4th, Sara placed in open for the first time with a 5th, Jenn got 6th?, Aislinn got 9th? and Erin got 13th? (not sure about all these), Kaitlin got 3rd, Meaghan got 6th?, Lizzy got 9th, Shannon got a 1st, 2nd and 4th, Danielle got four trophies (2nds and 4ths?), Joey Wheway got two trophies, and I'm sure there were lots more that I couldn't keep track of. Sorry if I got any of these wrong. Well done to everyone!

So far I have heard from 1 family concerning remitting the extra charge for the dresses. Some of you may not be aware,that the extra for the dresses was paid out of my pocket. I see alot of posts about being locked out of rooms for the New England O. If anyone needs any information about Newport or hotels, please let me know. I went to school in Newport, lived there & frequent it alot-- sooo perhaps I can help with alternate places to stay. Lots to see and do there.. and there are plenty of places to stay in the area. Just book early because there are lots of events/"going ons" there and it is a touristy place!

When someone asks a question, please answer it politely. Remember that the only thing that comes across on the board are your words, so use nice ones. If you see a post that can be seen as hurtful, espcially when it can hurt the feelings of a child, please bring it to my attention. Parents, students and teachers will have their posts removed when I see this happening.
Finally, that was MY child who's feelings were hurt by what was said and those who defended what was said.
