Are there a bunch of people going to Sheila's feis this year? It's March 27th, a Saturday. We're thinking about going and maybe staying over somewhere the night before. It might be fun if a group was planning to go. Any interest?

I know there are a few people going to the feis this weekend. The schedule is up. Some of the comps are VERY big (U17 has 36, U15 has about 53, U13 has 26)so it's likely to be a long day. See you there!

Here is the final schedule for the Shamrock school feis this weekend - I guess there were some changes made to it and there might be some confusion. Sheila Stevens posted this message on the New England board:
"Hi, The schedule has been sent to all active New England teachers before Christmas & I've posted it on this message bord when I was able to secure an additional dancing space, namely the small auditorium. Hope this helps to clear up uour confusion.

9am. Pre-Beg. Beg.1 Novices, & Open/Prelim Champs
10:30am. Advanced Beg.
12noon Traditional set
1:30pm Prizewinners

Some of the Prelim champs will be moved from auditorium to the Gym around 2pm.
See you Sunday"

I hope this helps settle any qestions. Sheila also wrote that anyone who did not get their numbers in the mail can get them at the feis.

It is with great sadness that I write this message to inform all that knew Ray and his family, that he passed away on Sunday. Ray was the father of Siobhan, and husband to Eileen. They were part of my first class in Meriden, and Siobhan danced up until College.The entire family was involved in the start of running the O'Keefe feis. Eileen still shows up in Wallingford to help out.
Our sincere condolences go out to Eileen and Siobhan. Their address is 21 summerwood Dr. in Wallingford. I will post the details as soon as they are made.
Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

The new floor is down at the studio. A HUGE thank you to Tom Conway and his neighbor for laying down the padding and sub-foor. I'm sure everyone will benefit from not having to use roisin anymore.
I am asking that everyone refrain from bringing any food or drinks into the dance area. This will help to keep the floor in good shape.

I was doing a search on dance classes in CT and MA the other day and came across your website. Since I could not see you too clearly on the posted pictures, I had to post this message for info.

I went to grammar school in New Have in the early 60's and was good friends with a Patty O'Keefe and Carol C. (won't put last names on post). We all graduated from St. Mary's in 1968. I also took Irish Step dancing lessons every Saturday afternoon in the basement of St. Mary's Church on Hillhouse Avenue.

Just curious if you are of the same family as Patty and related to 1st cousins who used to live on Mansfield Street and your mother's sister was their mother.

Please post a reply so that I can email you or you can email me if you are of the same family. My maiden name was Kerley - if that helps to verify who I am.

I'm not sure what is going to happen for Monday night's class. I found out when I arrived home from the feis that my father has suffered a stroke. I will try to get info on classes on this board by 2:00 tomorrow afternoon. Please say a prayer for him.If you do not see anything on the board by afternoon,assume there will be class. If you get there and I am not there, please practice without me.

To get a list of next year's feis schedule go to:

In the past, the schedule has changed after a few weeks of being posted, so you may want to skip printing it at this point. It tends to be about 15 pages long and you'd have to reprint it later. There are a few changes that I noticed right away, like the North Shore feis has moved from July to March, for anyone who went last year.

Friday's practice will be from 4:00 to 5:00 for traditional sets. Solo's will practice from 5:00 to 7:00.
Saturday's schedule is from 10:00 to 11:00 for traditional sets, 11:00 to 12:00 for all teams, and 12:00 to 3:00 for solos. All practices will be at the studio.

I just wanted to let everyone know that my foot surgery today went well! Thanks to everyone for their prayers! I'm kind of in a lot of pain, but I'm so relieved that the foot is finally going to heal right! I'm going miss being able to dance for a while... again, lol but hopefully I'll be able to by the Spring! Briana, I hope your foot heals increadibly quickly!!!!

Best wishes for Briana who hurt her foot today in class. It does not seem to be broken, but she'll be laid up for a while.
Please keep Ann Marie in your thoughts on Wed when she goes in for surgery on her foot. It is broken again and needs a pin in it this time. Hopefully the end is in sight now!

It is that time of year again to start planning for the 2004 All-Ireland Championships. The competition will be held in Ennis,Co. Clare, at the West County Hotel. They will run from Feb.1 to Feb. 7. If you are interested in goingI need to know by Oct.10. Entries are due in Ireland by the First of Nov. This competiion is open only to Champion ad Prelimnary Champion dancers. Let me know asap.

Ian and I have been working on the school web site in an effort to update it a bit. We could use some more pictures from the nationals if anyone can scan them and send them to me I'd be happy to put your picture on the site. Pictures can be formal, candid, in costume or not, of yourself or others from the school or even of the venue. We'll be at class on Thursday too if you want to bring a picture and we'll do the uploading onto the computer and can give your picture back next week. There will be a picnic on Monday Sept. 1st at the Quinn's house in North Haven from 12:00 to 6:00. Please bring your own towels,beach chairs,a dish to share,and whatever you want to drink.Let's hope the weather is good,as the rest of the summer has been not that great.See you on the 1st!
