Through Kriya practice, you send your prana to your higher chakras, so you can enjoy high and divine states temporally. But if such states are not supported by the right behaviour, they won’t last, as the prana won’t find a solid foundation to rely on those centers during the normal states. So the aspirant won’t advance further, he will get stuck in a roller coaster practice, and the break between normal life and the experiences of his Kriya practices will grow more and more. It means more division and more duality, and the goal of Yoga is unity, unity of life, unity of experience and Divinity. So advanced breathing techniques, without the right foundation of behaviour of the aspirant, are just dangerous. This –and no other- is the reason why such techniques were given with much care to the students, not for the sake of secrecy, but to protect their wholesome spiritual advance.
