"In his lessons Paramhansaji specifically told people not to practice Kechari with pranayama, but no doubt you know best."

Ketch: You know that's not true. Paramhansaji did not "specifically" tell people "not to practice Kechari with pranayama" in those lessons.

I looked up your references in the Kriya lessonsKriya 5 - page 4 line 1 & 2) and (Kriya 7A - page 1 paragraph marked 4). In neither case does Yoganandaji mention the word "kechari", or even imply that he's talking about Kechari. He's simply talking about turning the tongue back toward the throat and then letting it relax, in order to *********** (I removed this reference since it may reveal some of the lesson contents, and because I don't want you to delete this post).

Nowhere in your references does Yoganandaji talk about touching the uvula or putting the tongue up above the soft palate, as in Kechari Mudra. Nor does he refer to Kechari Mudra, nor does he imply that what he presribes is even a mudra.

What he does offer is some advice to a beginning Kriya Yogi on an aspect of Kriya that is clearly not Kechari Mudra.
