I don't think you are being really fair.

"All spiritual practices that have been endorsed time and again throughout milleniums by countless masters and the masters themselves are ridiculed.

Does this require any comment?"

Not if it is true. I challenge you to give us any evidence that Shibendu has done or does this. He is pro-Kriya, but I have never seen him criticize any ancient techniques. He is pro kriya just as a vippasana teacher will probably endorse vippasana before anything else.

To me, Shibendu's teachings are aimed at arriving at the non-dual state. I am not sure if you have ever understood the concept or relevance of the non-dual stuff. It is obvious that it doesn't quite click with what you want to believe in. There are other names for it, but it finds its home in all of the world's major religions. It is not anything that Shibendu made up because he was stuck on the intellectual plane or whatever. I know nothing of Shibendu's actual realization and I don't care that much. I just think that you don't get that approach of his teachings. You dislike the teachings on mind and ego and that's fine. It means that maybe that path is not for you. It does not invalidate it or make it lesser than any other path.

"It is a shame that the legacy of a great soul like Lahiri Mahasaya only three generations after his passing has become a breeding ground for fundamentalism and self-righteousness."

Heavy. I've never gotten that impression.

These are your own likes and dislikes. I think you are lashing out just a little.

Love,

k
