Subject: swing methods

I was wondering how the 1 Iron Golf clubs would fit with Don Trahans 3/4 swing, vertical swing method.

EarlBob,

Personally, my shots developed pinpoint accuracy with 95% of all shots out of 2 large buckets at the range landing within a 20 yard radius using this combination of PPGS, 1IronGolf irons... pick a club, any club, and at the respective range 80% of shots are between 5 and 15 yard radius.

However, I have friends who really struggle with the PPGS and they lack the effective distance variations required to play low. One friend only has about 60 yards difference from 3-PW... and, some how, still manages to spray his shots using PPGS... if he doesn't sway laterally... he does one of ten other things to get the club face out of alignment at impact.

The combination has great potential but it isn't automatic. Out of five of us with this combination in our circle of friends 2 of us have benefited and 3 have not. Of those three 1 has given up on the combination and another is very close to joining him on his next experiment.

In my experience, I have never put the club on the ball within 1/2 inch of sweet spot so consistently in my life.

EarlBob,

You might do a search. David recently answered your same question.

Keep swinging,

Michael

EarlBob: The 1-Iron Golf clubs will work with any type of swing. I personally use the PPGS system with excellent results, very good distance, and very consistent yardage gap between irons. The key is to do as Mr. Lake recommends, and keep the lower body still and get rid of any lateral sway during the swing. Two of my beginning golf students also use the 1-Irons and the PPGS with no problems. I found that most of the problems adapting any swing type to use with the 1-Irons are mental and it takes time at the range to change our thought processes. But our minds adapt well if we just try to keep everything as simple as possible and don't try to over-analyze the swing process. Hit em straight. R2

I use both and love both. The simplicity of each has helped my game a great deal. I use per Don's teaching a armsy swing vs David's tips, but it saves a lot of back pain and I still get decent distance. At 59 I'm driving the ball about 225 and the 3-iron about 165, but here's the beeg difference---Consistently. Fairway golf is more fun.

I use Don Trahan's 3/4 swing and the 1 iron works great. I have had my 1 Iron's for about 3 months and have reduced my average score by 8 and getting better. I'm ordering their driver today.
