An email we received recently:

You may be interested in my golf story. I last played golf in 1973 when my handicap was 2. Wooden Woods with a stiff shaft and blade irons. About a year ago I was able to start playing golf again. I used my old clubs to begin with and when I felt I was hitting the ball reasonably well again I thought I should avail myself of the latest technology. What a mistake. I was fitted (in more ways than one) with a set of Taylormade Burners. I could not hit the driver as far as I could my old wooden 2 wood and as for the irons they were a disaster, no feel or control the club head just took over.

This lead me to start an internet search for modern clubs that resembled my old blades and I discovered 1 Iron Golf. Your whole thesis made so much sense I purchased a set of irons and woods. Absolutely brilliant! I feel that I now control the club. I always had a high trajectory with my irons and I find I achieve the same distances with the short and mid irons however the 4 and 3 irons are flying about 10 yards further than my old ones. The 3 iron flying 200 yards whereas in the old days I needed a 2 iron to achieve this distance.

Here I am hitting the ball the same distance with control in my 60s as I did as a young man. Who says one needs a longer shaft to hit the ball further.

Thank you for providing me with the tools to enjoy playing golf again.

Kind regards,

J.C.
New Zealand
