I've played only occasionally for over 20 years, and have always been essentially a double-bogey golfer, shooting between 105-110. I bought the 1Iron clubs a month ago, and have noticed great improvement in a couple of areas. I've played four times with the new clubs, and broken 100 twice, which is about as many times as I've done that in the previous 5 years. I still push way too many shots to the right, but I believe that's a swing or set-up flaw that a lesson or two can fix. I definitely make more consistent contact with the new clubs. The most dramatic improvement is in the fairway woods - I've had tremendous success and consistency with the 3- and 5-wood off the fairway (or rough), so much so that I often tee off with the 3-wood, since I still haven't cured my driver slice.

It's good to hear some success stories from some fellow hackers. :)
I'm still on the fence though.
I'm currently reading Tom Wishon's book "The Search for the Perfect Golf Club". I just can't decide whether to go with the 1-irons or get a set of custom fit clubs.
But right now I don't have the money for either, so for now it's still reading and researching...
