Subject: Just checking in

I'm a 1 Iron Golfer who just wanted to check in and say hi. I used to post here frequently, but over the last year I got a new job which has tragically reduced my rounds. I hope to solve that problem this season.

I haven't had time to read through the "1 Iron Golf Journey" thread below but I'm looking forward to it. I've been using varieties of David Lake's clubs for, it must be, at least six years now--and since I'm still using them you can tell I'm a very satisfied customer. I bought a used set of the now-ancient Outburst series, then moved on to the CERs and now the current generation. This year I conned my wonderful Dad into buying me some current-generation demo irons for Christmas, #'s 6 through PW, and in a month or so plan to fill that out with at least a 5/SW/GW, plus possibly the LW and 7 wood. I already have the current, magnificent driver, 3 wood and 5 wood.

I just want to encourage people who are on the fence to give these a try. David Lake's 30-day tryout warranty is unbeatable and removes the risk factor. Personally I'm not one of those who believes any single golf product (or golf swing for your one-axis fans) will work for every single golfer; human variability, both physical and mental, rules that out. But I believe most who give these clubs a legitimate chance will fall in love with them, if they follow David's tips and suspend past attitudes about club design.

Regardless, I hope 2008 is the best golf year for everyone on this forum.

Chris:

Great post. Like you I started out with the Outbursts and then the CERs and then three years ago got a complete set of 1 Irons. I've played a lot of different big name brands of clubs in my day but agree with you that once you play 1 Irons you'll never play anything else.

Randy

You still have the Outbursts or old CER's. Pat
