Subject: To All Who Are Skeptical

I just received my new set of 1 irons. I went with the 5w, 7w, 5 thru pw. I have been playing golf for 25 years and have always been very inconsistent. And just like most, always struggled with anything over a 6 or 7 iron. Because of not being able to hit the longer irons my score really suffered. When I stumbled across the 1 iron website it really caught my attention. I spent several weeks studying the website and ordered the book. My concern, of course, was would the longer irons really have the distance that a conventional set of irons would. I even made a couple of phone calls and talked to David personally. I finally ordered the clubs and received them late last week. Per David's advice, I took the 5 iron to the range and hit a few half shots. After gaining a little confidence with these half shots I decided to go ahead and hit some full shots. I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT! I have NEVER hit a conventional 5 iron this straight this many times in a row. A friend was with me who has a laser rangefinder. Once comfortable with the full shots, he went down to the landing area to check how far I was flying it. I was flying the 5 iron 170 to 172 yards! Exactly the distance I flew my conventional 5 iron. The difference is I hit the 1 iron club good 90% of the time and the conventional club only about 30% of the time. After 3 days at the range I was totally convinced. So yesterday I took them to the course. I played 27 holes and here is the results: 40, 39, 36. I have shot a few scores like this before, but only if I got lucky with the mid to long irons. Bottom line is "THESE CLUBS WORK"!! The 5 iron is just as easy to hit as the 9 iron or PW.

Thanks David

Allen,

Thank you for your kind words and I am glad that your new 1 Irons are performing to your satisfaction.

I'll second Allen's post except that I'll add that the #3 iron is as easy to hit as the PW. Amazing clubs!!! Why didn't someone come out with these before?

i agree with these guys, [on full shots]
my problem is around the green, im finding it very difficult chipping close to the hole. normally my putting stats run around 28 with at least one chip in per round.
now im at 36 per round, as i cannot get close enough for an easy putt...my other problem is getting my distances down im overshooting the greens. but on the good side im aiming at the pin instead of the green. i do think once i get my distances down things will get better. plus i am working on that daily, just like when i started...also if anyone else needs a 64 deg wedge please write David. my 59 deg 1 iron wedge goes 115 on full shot leaving me in trouble on short shots...have fun...m
