Also, I don't know anything about how the flex changes...I think I read Mr. Lake say that you can safely cut 1/2 inch off the butt end without any problems...all I know is that the clubs perform just as well and feel better at setup. I went to the range yesterday, cuz I can actually afford to now, and they worked great. Firing all my 3-irons right at a telephone pole on the back of the range.

To shorten the shaft I just used a pipe cutter...you could probably use a saw though.
