Subject: Standard 1 irons vs proline

As a 26 year old, occasional weekend golfer with a high handicap I'm curious if it would be better for my game to go with the standard or proline? Like I said, I'm not very good, but I'm pretty fit/strong and have a quick swing speed(my last set of clubs I was fitted for used stiff shafts). I'm intrigued by the proline; but not sure the increase in cost is worth it since I'm only am occasional golfer, I'm also not sure if they are the right fit for my game(or lack thereof) or if I'd be better off with the standard ones.

The clubhead design of our standard 1 Irons and our Pro-Line is exactly the same with the same high level of playability. The specifications/tolerances of the Pro-Line are tighter and the face and sole grind are more precise which is preferred by touring pros and low handicap golfers. The Pro-Line clubheads are lighter in weight than the 1 Irons for increased swing speed and the shafts have a stiffer tip section for increased stability through impact and tighter shot dispersion. The Pro-Line is a definite upgrade to our standard 1 Irons.

Does the 1 Irons fit the Moe Norman single plain swing?

1 Iron Golf clubs are not method specific and are played and recommended by conventional PGA instructors as well as single-axis, PPGS, Stack and Tilt, and other swing method instructors and advocates. Regardless of the swing method or address position used the ideal position of the body, wrists, and arms are identical at the point of ball impact. Simply put, it is not important how you get to the ideal impact position as long as you end up in the ideal impact position. Consequently, since 1 Iron Golf clubs are built to your ideal club length in relation to the optimum club-head lie angle based upon the ideal impact position they will produce enhanced ball striking no matter what swing method is employed. Something to bear in mind is that since all of your 1 Irons are the same length you need to use the exact same ball position with each one (center of stance) and disregard any other instruction on ball position since these instructions pertain to conventional varying length golf clubs.

In might be of interest to note that Moe Norman (single-axis swing) played single-length golf clubs throughout his entire competitive career as did Bobby Jones. The Graves Golf Academy (Moe Norman's single plane swing instruction) owns a set of our 1 Irons, and Natural Golf (prior to them going out of business) owned a set of our golf clubs as did their representative on the mini-tours.

I play 2 degrees up on my current clubs. If I order a set from you, will this be part of the custom fitting? I didn't see anywhere on the webpage that covered this.

Thanks,
Don

The lie angle of our clubheads is 63.5 which is the ideal for iron play. We then fit this lie angle to you through club length based upon your wrist-to-floor measurement. The club-head lie angle that we use in conjunction with proper club length is designed to force you into the ideal swing posture and swing plane which maximizes your skeletal, tendon, joint, and muscular functions to produce your most efficient and powerful swing. The difference this produces in your performance is truly stunning.

Since our clubheads are cast from the highest grade stainless steel in the golf industry they should never be bent for loft/lie angle changes. Adjustments for arbitrary loft/lie angle changes are not recommended for any brand of iron since bending the hosel of a golf club creates minute stress fractures within the steel and dramatically reduces the performance as well as the life span of the clubhead. Our iron clubhead lie angle of 63.5 is the ideal for iron play and the loft angle gap between successive irons within a set of 1 Irons is 4 which ensures a precise yardage gap between clubs.
