Subject: Favorite iron

My favorite iron and easiest to hit is my 8 iron. My W-T-F measurement puts me at a 6 iron length. I don’t hit my 6 iron nearly as well. Why is this length better for me? Does your 6 iron play different than a Standard 6 iron? I have a set of Ping Irons yellow dot (not really sure what that means) that I was fitted for, but am very interested in trying a set of One Irons. I guess my question is why wouldn’t it be better for me to get a set the length of a stranded 8 iron?

Bear in mind that your current #6 iron has a clubhead lie angle that is much flatter than ours and requires you to reach out and bend over excessively to the ball at address. The clubhead lie angle of our irons is 63.5º which is far more upright and allows you, for the first time, to stand upright at address and much closer to the ball. The taller golfer, such as yourself, benefits the most from our fitting formula since, at your W-T-F measurement, you have never had golf clubs that even came close to fitting you properly, the result being that you have to bend over excessively and reach out for the ball with every club. In other words, you have had to develop a poor and inefficient posture and swing in order to play them.

Our fitting formula is designed to force you into the ideal swing posture and swing plane which maximizes your skeletal, tendon, joint, and muscular functions to produce your most efficient and powerful swing. The difference this produces in your performance is truly stunning.
