Subject: Incremental Distance Between Clubs

I've been playing the One Irons for two years now and am very happy with them. Occasionally, I get lazy and tend to stand (raise) up during the swing resulting in an improper lie angle at contact, resulting in toe down strikes off to the right. When I maintain the proper position, my shots are high and straight, often very satisfying.

I've read and heard Mr. Lake state that the incremental distance between clubs is ten yards. Is this standard for all players or might some individuals get more or less based on height, swing speed, etc.?

Marcus,

I use 10 yard gap very loosely. Those with higher swing speeds may see a 12 or 13 yard gap while those with slower swing speeds may see a 7 or 8 yard gap. Either way, since the incremental loft angle progression of our irons is the same (4º between irons), golfers will have the exact same yardage gap between irons throughout a set. This is impossible to achieve with any other brand of irons since we are the only ones who maintain the same loft angle progression between successive irons.

David Lake
