Shell,

I wasn't trying to make a particular point about this case. Simply that most of us who have been around the university circuit for more than a year, understand the general principles that we are trying to get to - eg whilst Warwick says beginners are people who haven't competed before october - most entrants are people who fit the "ivda" definition, if you patently don't fit that description, but sneek into the not competed rule, then please don't enter.

I know in the past that team captains have taken some leeway - as Robin suggests - if you're truly abismal at ballroom but A Jive in a smaller uni then maybe its forgivable to enter BCD Jive occasionally - but if you might or do get close to the semi-final or above of BCD then you really ought not to have entered - or to disqualify yourself on doing so!!

This isn't just about people dancing down, its why we have so much difficulty with dress restrictions etc. please work to the spirit not just the letter.

Ian
